Virgin Trains will be providing more seats on its busiest services between London, Chester and North Wales this summer. The delivery of a new Pendolino train, which will be used on the Birmingham-Scotland route has allowed an additional diesel Super Voyager train to be transferred to the North Wales route.
From next week, through until early September an additional five coaches, providing 256 extra seats per train, will be provided on Monday to Fridays on the 09:10 London Euston to Holyhead and 1358 Holyhead to London Euston services.
On Saturdays, an additional service, providing over 500 seats will depart Holyhead at 11:55 for London Euston and will call at Bangor (12:21), Llandudno Junction (12:29), Colwyn Bay (12:36), Rhyl (12:57), Chester (13:25), Crewe (13:54), Milton Keynes Central (15:01) and London Euston (15:38). The 16:10 London Euston to Holyhead on Saturdays will also be formed of ten carriages, providing 256 more seats on this train.
Virgin Trains spokesman Steven Knight said: “The number of journeys on Virgin Trains has more than doubled in six years - from 14 million to over 28 million. The additional Pendolino train has allowed us to reallocate other trains and provide North Wales with much needed additional capacity during the busy summer months”.
